    The Biogram of Essential Oils Therapeutic Chemistry
    The biogram and bio-organic chemistry of essential oils

    In this 6 day course we will explore in an easy, practical and fun way the chemistry of the chemical constituents found in essential oils and their application for the aromatherapy student and qualified aromatherapist. Includes detailed therapeutic effect of the chemical constituents of essential oils. The biograms, as conceived and developed by Dr. Lunny are a simple and effective method of understanding at a glance the chemical structure of an essential oil. They are based on the original work of Pierre Franchomme coupled with Vivian's knowledge of the art of Colour healing, History of Medicine and Conventional Medicine. The Biograms provide the practicing aromatherapist with an insight into the composition and therapeutic applications of an essential oil or essential oil formulation which is equally beneficial to the newly qualified therapist and to the experienced clinical practitioner and aromatherapy tutor. We will cover the following topics:

  • Fundamental chemistry: atoms, molecules and matter.
  • Basic Organic Chemistry.
  • Hydrocarbons: alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, terpenes, and aromatics
  • Polarity of the different constituents found in essential oils.

    Aromatherapy Techniques for Self-Awareness

    This workshop lead by Dr. Lunny is designed as an informative journey around the history and practical uses of aromatherapy as a tool for self-empowerment and growth. We will look at 7 essential oils which have been shown to help with personal and emotional issues, assertiveness, happiness and joy, the blending of self love, the emotional body of man and mankind and many other self-help issues.

    Aromatherapy and Ethereal Oils for the Family

    During this weekend you will learn the profiles of twelve of the most valuable and safe essential oils used in aromatherapy, including their basic botany, chemical constituents, therapeutic properties and most common uses for the physical and emotional spheres.

    All aspects of the correct, safe and appropriate types of aromatherapy treatments will also be covered. Please arrive early.
